Cheers Phill. According to the 1908 map, Water Lane did extend from the Victoria Road junction in the west, to the Meadow Lane/Hunslet Lane/Hunslet Road/Bridge End junction in the east.

I remember Water Lane just being derelict for years, in fact I may have borrowed a few of the cobbles from the street when it was been lifted

Yes Water Lane ran from Bridge End and the number 10 is next door to the old warehouse which is now apartments at Two Water Lane.

You know when you are getting old when you read historical queries about places you knew well.Water Lane did indeed start from the shops on bridge end which are still there, and ran along the riverside, across to where people think water lane actually started/starts.I worked around there for years. The flavour of what it was is always captured on the Godfrey maps. All that went with the Asda building.The most interesting feature from years ago was a large Quaker meeting room and a large burial ground on the Asda/water lane site.I don't know how that was handled when it was abandoned and re-developed.......

Please excuse my earlier attempt. It wasearly this morning and I'd only just gotten up.Of course Water lane did extend all the way to Bridge End, I just missed it off!Anyway, here is another go.

The only Leodis Pic for that end of water lane (apart from Bridge End pics) is of croft buildings at 15-21 water lane. Check it out for dereliction!!!!

1906 map and still no wiser, all the leodis pics are on the wrong side of the road.
