Well you had to improvise as a lad didn't you, pocket and paper round money didn't go that far The hairdressers was ''Kens'' now I've found this photo to jog my memory.    

IIRC the row of first floor windows above "Ken's" contained the very pleasant restaurant which had a most peaceful ambience indeed - also access was easy by the "Philld" patent economic method, but fooling the waitresses into some free grub was impossible sadly     

Article in the YEP about how the cinema is now up for rent. I wonder if the pictures are recent or not?

I suspect not. I think there were some more recent pictures showing that a lot more had been removed including the carpeting and curtains... Could be wrong though

Pre-application hearing looking at building a 17 storey tower in the Merrion Centre, which would mean the demolition of the cinema site.
