Is the Outside Inn built around the structure of real houses? The back room looks to be an old square surrounded by stone cottages. If it is a purpose built restaurant they've certainly made it look authentic (apart from the shop windows with plastic goods for sale!)

In answer to your first question - No. Its a very good bit of 'kidology' but basically its all 'smoke and mirrors'.The Outside In (note- not 'Outside Inn') was originally a pub called the 'Alma' which closed, I believe c1914. I may be mistaken but I think it was a dentist's or doctor's surgery for many years( dont quote me on that!) until the 'Outside In' opened in the late 1970s/early 80s(not sure of the exact date). This pic shows the Alma c1905 - with the Black Bull next door and the Old King's Arms opposite.

there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

well the memories are flooding back now - my friend Geoff Minnithorpe was head waiter there, must be back in the mid 80's I guess - he had a great way of putting down rude guests - but it's far too risque to put on this thread!! And yes, I remember the ribs as being great too ...
